the vision is Jesus

September 17, 2022 a few ministry leaders from the Holland Zeeland area gathered to pray for the community. Now 18 months later, that group has grown to include both staff and lay-leaders from several different churches, missionary organizations and non-profits from the West Michigan area (and whoever else happens to be in town!)

There is no agenda to these weekly times of prayer. The Holy Spirit leads the way, and focuses of adoration, confession, thanksgiving and petitions weave their way seamlessly through the time together. Prophetic words are spoken, as well as words of encouragement and conviction often through scripture. The meeting space has truly become holy ground.

As this group has grown, a desire to collaborate in ministry has surfaced. A desire to focus less on the walls that might divide us, or the culture of competition that often pits us against each other, but instead turn our eyes to Jesus the author and perfecter of our faith. And we’ve begun to ask questions like, “what would it look like for us to work together for the the Kingdom of God in the Holland/Zeeland area?” As we’ve begun some collaborative efforts, we quickly realized that prayer has always been at the center of this movement of the Holy Spirit (because that’s what it is!). It’s the time of prayer that is slowly transforming us as individuals from area churches and non-profits into something more…the family of God. As we’ve prayed, we been led to the image of a river that is fed by individual streams joining together. We pray for more streams to converge. Will you join us?
